Fall color tour.

Posted: October 11, 2011 in Chris Craft boats

I stopped worrying about whether or not I should let the Roadster’s ebay sale continue and just keep it, and just had fun.  Kim and I got the Roadster out and drove to our favorite restaurant in Hastings, “Seasonal Grill” and a had a wonderful lunch.  We took a leisurely drive home, then got the Chris Craft out, and went to Gull Lake.

Somehow, a color tour followed by a beautiful boat ride and Sex (I know what you’re thinking, we drank a bottle of Mawby Vineyards “Sex” sparkling wine on the boat ride) took the anxiety away about the ebay auction.

I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.  Enjoy, we certainly did!

I have to admit that the color cruise from the boat (A Chris-Craft to boot) is a great way to see the beauty of our Michigan autumn. Rest assured that the little Roadster doesn’t sell unless it reaches your reserve and I’d hope that would make both of you happy. Your hobby interest are more rounded that anybody I know. With the old cars (and Truck), travel trailer hobby and the Chris Craft I think you’ll come out with a smile on your face no matter how the auction ends. Besides nothing is forever and you have the skills to build another and change/correct what you did with the ’36 that you feel you fell short.
Carry on my friends. You deserve it.

Thanks for the kind words of wisdom Brian! You’re right, of course. I’ve been thinking about a fenderless ’27 Highbody, a couple extra inches in the body tub, with a Quad four or Toyota 2.2 and 5 spd, so I’ve got an idea. Let’s see now, floor dropped between the frame rails for a floor/bellypan, legroom, a little more suspension travel, good gas mileage, yeah, sounds like I’m over it already…
